I was checking out for kid bedroom furniture at the brick and mortar store. Most of them charge for delivery even for local. Then I started to check online for furniture. Shopping for furniture online may sound funny but this is the new trend has been going around. People can shop from the comfort of their own home even for big items like furniture.

Going to Malaysia!

I love visiting Malaysia for their wonderful culture and of course, their variations in eateries. The last time I was back there in Kuala Lumpur, I only stayed for 2 weeks. How I wish I could be there for at least a month. I hardly had any time to try all their different food within 2 weeks. I didn't even have time to travel around the city and shop.

So next time if you are thinking about some kind of city breaks, try stopping over at Kuala Lumpur. You will sure enjoy your stay there. As for me, if I am able to find any cheap flights to Malaysia, I will definitely be going back there again. This time I will stay for 2 months at least. :)

Eating out in London

I have many friends in London area. One of them particularly told me she is very fond of eating out at nice London restaurants.

She browses on Trustedplaces.com whenever she feels adventurous for new eat-out places. She knows the exact location of the restaurant she's going to visit and sometimes she can even view the menu before arriving at the restaurant.

She has invited me over to join her eat-out adventure but I had to decline for now as travelling with a toddler for long-haul flight is not really fun. Not now, but may be in the future when my boy is a little older and then I can travel with ease.

Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the stars will be coming back on TV in 1 day and 1 week time. Exact date of the premier is on Sept 24th on ABC channel from 8:00pm-9:30pm. Again this season, 6 men and 6 women (include Jennie Garth and Marie Osmond) will be competing.

I love watching this reality show because I always love to sway and dance. Unfortunately I've never learn to dance. One day I will probably take up class or get a DVD to teach me the Bachata and Salsa. These two dances are the best to sweat up on the dance floor, a little exercise for me.

No candies for MIL

My MIL is diabetic. She uses medication as well as diet to control her sugar level. She tests her blood sugar everyday, sometimes a few times a day, depending what she has eaten. She is very fond of sweet candies and chocolates. Sometimes she can't control herself and steal a chocolate or two. But luckily, it will not increase her blood sugar level that much.

Recently, she found out one of her nephew in Macau has been diagnosed with diabetes too and needed to check his blood sugar daily. She bought a meter kit with several boxes of Freestyle Test Strips and mailed back to her nephew. These items are very expensive in Macau and sometimes they are very difficult to find. May be I can let him know to buy diabetic supplies online, hopefully they do ship to Macau.

A casual conversation

We get to see so many relatives during the family gathering at my husband's uncle house. Most of them, we only see once a year during the gathering. This time, with my little one running around, I could hardly start a conversation with anyone. I always wanted to talk to my husband cousin's wife who has a little boy about 9 months older than our child, would love to share motherhood experience with her. But since both of us were too busy looking after our boys, we usually didn't chat for long.

While we were having a conversation, an aunt came to join in. Somehow, she thought we were talking about plastic surgery and told us that a casual friend of hers had successfully lost some extra weight after going through a procedure at Beverly Hills Liposculpture facility.

Between my cousin-in-law's wife and I, both of us felt kind of awkward about "our aunt" surprised conversation. But she didn't sense it as she continued on about how she has Botox every 3 months to reduce the wrinkles around her eyes. She then told us another friend of her didn't have Botox and her eyes look so droopy, especially when she didn't have make-up on. Later, she told us that one day she will probably go for eyelift and facelift surgeries to fix up her face.

Then she turned to us and asked us what plastic surgeries we were discussing about? We laughed and told her we weren't talking about plastic surgery at all. We were discussing about motherhood and how pregnancy and having babies had changed how our bodies look. My aunt then asked if we are talking about tummy tuck? We laughed again. By that time, we were called in for the dinner.

But now thinking back about it, may be after I am all done with having kids, I will look for a Mommy Makeover. I know there are a lot of places that I need to fix, so mind as well fixes all together at once.

What's that noise?

I know I grind my teeth when I sleeping at night. Even though I am sleeping, I know I am doing the grinding but yet I cannot control it to stop. It is pretty loud sometimes, husband had once told me. I search around for some product that can help me control the midnite grinding. Though my husband never complain about it, but too much grinding may not be too good for my teeth either. I didn't want to pay for the dentist to fix my chipped teeth.

As a family we love to travel, short or long distance. There were many times we need a little help from cutting an expose thread on our shirt to open a bottle of soda, my dad was the one person we looked for. He always carried Swiss Army knives with him. Now that I have my own family, I also keep one of a smaller version with me. I love how the company has included technology into a tool we always carry with us. Rustic Home Decor

If you've been to our home, I call tell you that you will agree we need a little urmph to improve our home decoration. Right now, it is too plain. The wall has nothing but the coat of paint. It will be wonderful if I can add some rustic home wall decor to it.

Recently, met a friend over lunch and she recommended natural stone home decor. She told me that she received plenty of compliments after she added an American handcrafted Lighted Onyx Wall Clocks to her living room. I may have to drop by her house to check it out one of these days.

Traffic Court in LAX

There is a Traffic Court near LAX which is about 15 minutes drive from my home. I didn't know about it until I read it in Town-Court dot com. This is a growing community/directory with information about all types of courts. When you look up the courts, you can find the court address with Google Map, phone number, comments about the court, about the area, hours of operation, judges and types of cases they handle. This information will come in handy for first time visitor to any of the courts.

Self supporting

Came to Los Angeles to further my study years ago. Basically, I was self-supporting, except for tuition fee. I also received partial scholarship for my tuition. And I worked several part time jobs in the college to earn my living expenses.

I needed a computer to do my homework as well as to communicate with family back home. My father was kind enough to send me the money for a desktop. Since I couldn't really afford to pay retail price for them, I looked around for cheap but quality student software. Luckily, I was able to survive all my 3 college years here by supporting myself.

Small little feet

People always think that I am still a high-school girl. Yes, I am petite and usually petite person doesn't grow old as quickly I guess. I can pass as a teenager if I wanted to. One thing being petite is the difficulty to get non-junior type of clothing or shoes.

As for clothing, I sometimes shop at departmental stores' petite section. As for shoes, I visit Up & Under Shoes. They specialize in shoes for size 10+ and under 6. I wear size between 5 and 6, depending on the type of shoes. This morning I went in to check what items they have on sale and found a dress slip-on black Marinelli Marina for $55.00. A vacation home

How I wish I am staying nearer to the beach here. I mean basically next to the beach. I will probably be typing this on my patio over looking the ocean. How nice if this is true. If we get a chance, we probably will get a second vacation home in the east coast. At least properties there are not as expensive as over in Los Angeles.

Even though I am a real estate agent, but I only have the license to sell/buy homes in California and not in other states. So if we do buy any homes in the east, we will probably seek help from Wilmington, NC Real Estate. They are 'Exclusive Buyer's Agent/Broker,' meaning they do not typically list any properties but instead representing buyers to make purchase of homes. They can help buyers to save money and negotiate the best offer for them.

Three months to Black Friday

We are arriving to the last quarter of the year 2007 pretty soon. As the end of the year is approaching, so is Christmas. We usually start our Christmas shopping early. Whenever, we see good buys anytime of the year, we will get the item for Christmas gift. But most of our shopping will be done on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.

You probably wonder why they call the day after Thanksgiving - Black Friday. Traditionally, this day marks the beginning of Christmas shopping for most people and when the malls are changing their Thanksgiving decoration to Christmas decoration. Why Black? Because retailers for the first time of the whole year will see profits (black) and not losses (red) in their businesses.

Since I've told you what is Black Friday, let me now tell you what we usually do on that day. We get the newspaper on Thanksgiving Day. This newspaper is very thick as it has so many Black Friday Advertisements (BFAds) in it. We would plan our trip for the next day and list all the retailers we are going to visit. They open as early as 5am. Most stores have special and limited items on sale to attract customers to their store first. We would have to wake up as early as 4am to lined up at the stores to get the limited specials. But this was the past and I no longer have to do BF shopping like that.

Since last year, we've been doing our BF shopping online. We signed up with BFAds and get emails notices about BF sales online. We can do our shopping before we go to sleep on Thanksgiving night. For example, last year I got some great Amazon.com deals and Bestbuy special BF promotion before I went to sleep. Place my order and wait for their free delivery. Isn't that wonderful? We no longer have to fight the crowd and wake up at 4am.

Front yard landscapping

Ugly ugly ugly. That's how my front yard looks and how much I dislike it. The ground is uneven, and the grass is not green. There are patches of dry spots here and there. Flower beds are all dried up. No time to maintain it. The metal fence/gate is rusting. The wooden circle decor on the fence is falling apart. Is time for makeover!

I really look forward for a new front yard. A yard which I can bring my boy out to enjoy. Let him run around and not worrying him falling onto the down due to the uneven ground. Let him play by himself while I sit on a cushioned patio chair by the shady tree with my laptop and wireless connection. That's so nice to dream about.

Honestly, we really looking to change our front yard landscapping. If we really do, I want to put in nicer, shorter grass and a few shady trees. May be 1 or 2 fruit trees too. A couple of lifelike fake boulders, similar to those you find from Artificial Rocks Factory. They look real but doesn't weigh a tonne. They can also be used to hide and conceal pumps and utility boxes. Add two fake tree stumps for sitting. Fill up my flower beds with scented and low maintenance plants. If still within our budget, may be add a small waterfall and a pond.

Just think about this makeover already makes me feel very relaxing. Imagine if this is the real thing. But for now, we'll just hope we will be able to save enough money for a new front yard. Guess we might need to increase our budget.
