Everyday I call PIL to come over when Brandon is ready to play, ie finished his late morning nap and lunch. Most of the time FIL picks up the phone. Everytime he hears my voice saying 'hello' on the phone, he will quickly greet to me in Canto, "So Brandon woke up and ate his lunch already issit?" Most of the time I reply, "YES. Come over now." Then we end our converstion, no BYE no SEE YOU.
But sometimes, I do have things to say after I finished the sentence, but while waiting for his reply, I only hear emptiness on the other end. Yes, he 'kap' my call. Last two days he didn't answer my question and hung up on my call while I was still finishing my sentence.
1st day, Brandon haven't have his nap yet but I called them to come over so Brandon could nap after that. Same answer by FIL, then I told him that Brandon hasn't nap yet, but you can come over now OR you can come over after his nap. As I was waitiang for answer I only heard silence from the other end. Then a few minutes later, I saw MIL and FIL walking over.
2nd day, yesterday, Brandon had his nap and lunch. I called, and FIL picked up the phone, same greeting from him. Then I asked if MIL was available because I know she is fixing up her home and ask if she's busy and wanted to come over later or now. Again ... silence ... aihs .... I really dunno what to say.
These were not the only two times ... there were many other times too. I always 'kena' 'kap seen' by FIL.

LOL! It is so funny but quite rude too, eh?
i guess very chinaman attitude? not only elderly ppl, i hv a friend back in kl who is also like that, she could never say "bye" after a phone conversation, not only to me but to her hubby too.
Hahaha. Old folks!
But it's good indication..
It shows your PILs are very eager to drop by to see their grandson.
And what a nice arrangement huh? That they live nearby but not in the same house.. :P
forgot to add..
You like to do tag right?
I tagged you.. :P
vien: it happens most of the time, but not always.
