No, this is not a story about my SIL. Is my BEST friend's SIL and her family.
My friend started by asking me if I want to "8" because she read that I was going to write more story and she voluntarily submit her real-life story to me to "8". We chatted for like 3 hours over msn messenger. She told me so much. But it was late already, around 1215am and I needed to leave. Or else, there would be even more things she would tell me.
She and her husband has been living together at the same house since they got married. But even before she got married into his family, the SIL has been routinely going over to his brother's house 7 days a week. Her kids goes to school in that area. Even on weekend, the kids go to tuition in the same area. Her husband will spend the weekend in my friend's house watching TV while the kids are attending their extra-curriculum activities. Anyway, since they got married, they never have any private day together. They go there early early in the morning around 7am and leave around 9-10pm, after dinner.
After hearing about her story, I felt so bad for her and in fact, feel a little lucky myself. We got our own home not too long after we got married and we moved out from the in-laws. I asked my friend why she didn't bother to tell us long time ago. She said she didn't want to because her husband didn't like it when she talk to people about their family's stuff. But it has come the time now to tell because her SIL did something really WORST and she couldn't stand it anymore.
Here goes the continuation ...
2A-1. SIL got 3 kids, between 10-17. Two girls, one boy in the middle. All of them don't do housework one because their mom said let her do it. I was like *huh* after she told me that. My friend very nice. When she started living with them, she noticed the eldest daughter never wash plate after eating. So she told her nicely to help wash her own plate at least. The daughter was nice and she did what my friend told her willingly. But then came the SIL. She scolded her daughter, asking her why wash the one plate herself. She said to her, to leave the plate in the sink and she would later wash them together. SIL's reason - save A LOT of water and A LOT of 'sabun' (detergent). How much detergent can save lar?!
2A-2. Because SIL said want to save water, (she doesn't pay the utilities, my friend's husband pays, my friend asked them to use water is OK but they said want to save water, but on other hand, they use eletricity like crazy, and they turn on lights even though during day light). SIL's kid never take bath one. Their school uniforms never wash daily ... I was so surprise when my friend (let's name her D), D, told me SIL tells the kids to wear the uniform everyday for 1 week only wash once. D said SIL's kids smell so badly, got those sweaty smell. They stay at her home after school until evening after dinner only go home. So her house smells so badly. After she and husband come back from work, they have to open all the windows and fans to air out the dirty smelly air. That's how bad it is.
3. SIL's son played basketball in school and came back to my friend's house. Throw his t-shirt away and sleep on the sofa with all his sweat. So gerli. My friend told me, her sofa is grey color and all smelly smelly. When her husband have to take out the cover to wash, he has to step on the sofa using his leg not hand, to take out the cover for wash, and the water ... DARK GREY color one.
3A-1. The kids are not taught about hygiene. They throw rubbish around the house, those plastic including ice-cream wrapper lar, ta-pau food plastic ... all over the floor. Brought in a lot of ants. My friend has to clean the house every day after she return from work. She said so tired after long day at work, come home somemore have to 'chap sau mei' of other people's mess. SIL doesn't like people telling her how bad her kids are. When D approached her about the problems, she would just scold the kids in front of D. That makes D feel really bad. But D told me, SIL did that to show only because the kids' problems never been corrected. She really gave up telling SIL about the kids' stuff already.
OK ... I will continue another part later. Type until my hand so tired already.
