High Chairs Part 1

I wrote a long post about high chairs (and babies r us) but while uploading pictures, an error occured and my IE wasn't able to continue. The post wasn't saved and now I have to retype it again. Very frustrated by that. This time I will separate into two posts.

We started looking for high chairs this part weekend. Did some online research and found one which I like. So this past Saturday we went out shopping at Walmart and Babies 'R' Us (short: BBRU). At Walmart, we saw an Evenflo high chair for only $50, it is not the one I was looking for but the design looks similar. I didn't take a picture but you can see it here with a different type of fabric. Wasn't able to put Brandon on it to try as the high chair was tied down with a big chain.

Evenflo Envision features:
  • 2 Dishwasher safe tray inserts for quick and easy clean up
  • Large cloth padded seat
  • 4-position, easy-to-clean tray with one-handed adjustment and release button
  • Towel rack for convenient storage of bibs, towels and washcloths
  • Sturdy metal tubing for support and stability
  • 4-locking casters to easily move about
  • 7 comfortable height adjustments make it easy to pull up to any table
  • 3 comfortable recline positions make feeding easy
  • Easy fold mechanism makes chair very compact
  • Storage basket included

Next we went to BBRU. Luckily we found a parking spot (this place can be really packed on weekend). They have a wide range of high chairs price between $60-$180. They do carry the one I like, Graco Contempo but only with two fabric designs. The design are Bermuda (price $120) and Sand Dollar, and the Sand Dollar is on sale for $80 (regular price $100). The fabric design which I preferred is called Darby and it is not available anywhere in brick and mortar store. I can purchase this online for $100 plus another $10 for shipping, which is $30 more.

Graco Contempo High Chair features:

  • Absolute slimmest fold! Up to 42% slimmer than other highchairs- saves space (fold up to 7.5" wide)
  • Requires no assembly- saves time (ready to be used out from the box)
  • 2 trays for easy cleanup PLUS an extra insert tray! (inner trays are dishwasher safe!)
  • Smaller and not so bulky snack tray
  • Premium design features a comfortable, machine washable seat pad
  • One hand 3-position reclining seat ideal for young infants
  • 6 position height adjustment
  • Removable infant head support for baby’s comfort

To see the features in action, click on this link and then click on interactive demo.

We left BBRU and went home to think about which one to purchase.

I bought Zara a Tripp Trapp, which will last her till she becomes and adult.. Since the chair is adjustable and in the end can be turned into an adult's chair.

It's really useful. She joins us in every meal time at home. Unlike some high chair, you can't 'park' it close enough to the dining table for the child to 'participate' in meals.

zara's mama: Oh, I've seen those. They are expensive!
